The South Carolina legislature is considering the Guarantee Banking Act – legislation that would create unnecessary and duplicative regulatory burdens on the banks that support our families, businesses, and our economy.

States like Louisiana and Alabama have aligned their support behind federal action to address debanking, rather than complicating things at the state level. SB 1069 will only complicate this further.

More government is not the South Carolina way. Rather than adding red tape, we should support President Trump and Congress, including Senator Scott, as they work toward a national solution that protects South Carolinians and all Americans from debanking now and in the future.
