Americans for Free Markets Welcomes Chairman Kevin Brady as an Advisor

Dec 15, 2025

Americans for Free Markets (AFFM) today announced former U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady as an advisor to the organization, signifying AFFM’s continued growth and commitment to defend free market principles, prevent government overreach and advocate for the prosperity and economic freedom of Americans everywhere.

Brady brings with him more than 25 years of congressional leadership and advancement of pro-growth, pro-free market policies. During his time in Congress, Brady chaired the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee, Joint Committee on Taxation, and Joint Economic Committee, and was the lead author of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Brady now serves as a senior consultant for Akin, where he advises clients on a range of policy issues with a special focus on economic-related issues, including trade, tax, and energy. Prior to joining Congress, Brady spent nearly two decades as an executive for various chambers of commerce in Texas.

“I am thrilled to be joining AFFM to champion the free market and advocate for pro-growth policies that protect taxpayers and businesses from government overreach and politicized federal regulators,” said Brady. “Under the current administration, we’ve seen tremendous movement to rid the regulatory system of rules and policies that can be weaponized by bureaucrats with political agendas. AFFM will continue to speak out against bad policies and harmful regulations while supporting proposals that advance pro-growth, market-friendly initiatives in partnership with our allied coalition nationwide.”

Brady joins the coalition as an advisor alongside former U.S. Senator Pat Toomey. “Chairman Brady is a long-standing leader in championing free markets and policies that support Americans and American businesses. I look forward to working together to support the progress being made by the administration and in Congress to put power back in the hands of the American businesses and free markets,” said Senator Toomey.

“Chairman Brady’s decades of leadership in Congress and the business community, paired with his proven record of advocating for and advancing pro-growth legislation, make him a natural fit to advise our coalition,” said AFFM Executive Director David Ibsen. “His commitment to supporting the economy so that all Americans can thrive will be instrumental as we continue to advocate for free market principles without government interference.”

With an experienced leadership team at the helm, AFFM is well-positioned to continue its work to advocate for policies that protect the free markets, reject unnecessary government interference and ensure all Americans have the opportunity for success.
